St James will shortly commence its work at the southern end of the square, addressing the significant health and safety issues caused by incorrectly fitted coping stones. All affected homes should have been contacted by St James.
The Board has granted St James a license to use the central area for storage of scaffolding and materials. During this period, the storage area will not be accessible and please advise your children they should not enter the cordoned off storage area for any reason.
We were told the alternative was that the works would take considerably longer and would involve large lorries arriving and leaving at the most inconvenient times of the day not only causing inconvenience but also further health and safety issues from the significantly higher number of lorries arriving and unloading on a daily basis.
The license requires St James to ensure the storage area is suitably cordoned off and to repair any damage done to the square or the roadways.
During this time, the homes affected will be unable to park in the normal way and so we will need to accommodate parking around the square as long as it does not impede free access in any way. There should be a couple of spaces at the northern end of the square as well as spaces in the areas without red lines in the square's access road. Please be as accommodating as you can during the build period. Many thanks.
I am afraid I don't know so can I suggest you e mail David Dunlop?
Hello, Just for clarification purposes, originally they were starting on the houses from number 13 onwards which is the Eastern side, not the Southern side. If the plans/schedule have changed I've not received any letters, has anybody else? I assume the Southern side is starting from house number 21?
